Definition of Revenge

Revenge is an affective act that is motivated by the anger of those who have felt humiliated and want to return the damage suffered in a conscious way through a vengeful plan. Revenge is contrary to the forgiveness of those who are able to excuse a human act because they know that revenge does not bring anything good in the long term. The person who comes away from feeling good about himself after such an act feels worse. Because violence only generates violence.

An impulse that must be controlled

The desire for revenge is that impulse that arises in the heart in certain situations. For example, when a person is the victim of an infidelity, they may want to pay their mistake with the same currency to the other. For example, playing sports , taking a long walk through a quiet place in the city, meditating , performing visualization exercises, chatting with a friend outside the conflict about what has happened.

The difficulty of handling emotions can become serious

It is an act of maturity and emotional intelligence to be able to control impulses through emotional intelligence . While children overcome their anger very naturally in a matter of a while, on the contrary, the adult can get carried away by pride and vanity. As Socrates said, it is worse to commit injustice than to suffer it. Therefore, when a person is the victim of an unfair act, they should not consider paying with the same currency.
